Sherry Wine

The Jerez denomination of origin is in the centre of the region of the same name, surrounding the city that has given its name to the famous Jerez wines (sherry). Its name comes from the ancient Phoenician Xera, 400 years before Christ, and from the Hispanic Sherisch.

The Jerez DO is located in the Bay of Cadiz, bathed by the waters of the Atlantic Ocean and between the rivers Guadalquivir and Guadalete, a surface area of 12,000 hectares of vineyards, on rolling, white limestone soil. Known as albarizas, they are airy and shallow soils, with excellent water retention and natural conditions for the development of quality vineyards.

The strain predominant strain in Jerez is Palomino Fino, which takes 95% of production, accompanied by Pedro Ximenez and Moscatel strains. The wines of this region are generous, such as Chamomile wines, fine amontillados and palo cortado wines, among others.
